English Class Meet with High School Students

English Class Meet with High School Students

The last Week I and my English class had visitors. They were lovely guys from Cannon City High School. We spend time together and learned lots of things about them. That was great opportunity for us because we could speak face to face with young people of American speaker.
They were nice, educated and really funny guys, but overcoat they were very patient with us. All time they talk to us slowly and paused with the purpose to be understood by everybody.
In my case this was a great experience. I learned new world with them and was really well for me to practice and listen American people.
We share during three day. The fist day they brought some poetry which one we discussed together.
The second day we went to the river and we did a debate about Alcohol with this topic we had the opportunity to tell and listen different opinion from each other.
The third day we did a performance that was really funny. My favorite performer in this event were Boston, Jooho and Nessa, they did a funny acting.
The last activity was a lunch in the Olive Garden Restaurant, in this opportunity I talk a lot with Kathy, which was really nice and helpful.
For me was the first time meting with a group of American speakers, and I had pretty ideas about who they are. I also appreciate their job and availability.
Thanks so much all the group.

Steelworks Museum of Industry (Pueblo, co)
Today I visited this place with my English class; it was really interesting to know about mine and industry in the past of this town. At the beginning we watched a video which one was a little bored for me in some moment.
We had a tour where show us many exhibitions relating to coal mining and mine safety, we known about employee, salary and different culture that were working together in this pace, also about the danger that was work in here and how many people lost their life working here, all this things did the atmosphere more interesting,.
Was really exciting one moment when we could touch and try numerous accessories from this era like hats, glove, collars etc. We could enter to the rescue ambulance that they used in the and now how is it. Also we took photos on it. In summary we had a good time in this museum and I recommend visiting it. It is general culture to know about that.
Slumdog Millionaire

This is nice movie but I think is very violent has physical abuse of a children, extreme poverty and Murders of innocent people. The bad thing is that it was true to life many things like this can success in many part of the world. the life of this poor childrem really touch my sould.
Life is not all rose for the whole world. This movie teaches us how lucky and fortunate we are and how many thing we have. We should all appreciate what we have.
In conclusion I think it was a sad and brilliant film with a happy end.
TOEFL TEST

All test make me feel nervous but Teofl is an especial test and mean too much for me, for this reason I fell more anxious about it. My future professional living here depends of this text. This is very important test for all person include me that come from other country to United State and want to do career in here.
Actually I took formally two times this test. The first time when I took it the I was not nervous because for this time I didn’t have the same urgency like now to get high punctuation and my preparation was different than now, my score was so so. The second time that I took the test my score was better. Recently I took a practice Toefl test with my English class for me surprise my score was not good, my progress was almost nothing. For this result I’m really worry about that I think my English progress is suspend .
I couldn’t red the last part o the test practice, which was not good for my score. Other thing was that I lost the concentration, just was concentrate at the binning. Any well I need to pass the toefl and I just have less than one month for preparation. I hope my god help me to realize it.
Whale Rider Movie Review

This Movie took place on a coast of New Zealand in 2002, where people believe that just men could be leader of village, one renegade men, called Paka, who was actually leader of this place, was looking for desperate for a boy who will be the new leader. Unfortunately the boy that was supposed to be leader died at birth, Paikea was born twin with this boy and she could survive, but her grandfather didn’t want her as leader because she was a girl and he need a boy as leader.
This movie shows the repression of the woman from old culture. And how insistent and fighter and capable are we the women from long time. Paikea learned in secret all the things that her grandfather tried to teach at the boy which he was training for leader. Nobody pass the test. Pikea did it.
Her grandfather didn’t recognized nothing until at the end when many whale were lying down around the beach and all people together with Paka couldn’t help to move the whale. She could alone to put safely all the whale, and there was that her grandfather realized that she was destined to be a leader of the village.
For me this movie at the beginning was a little bored, but after with Paikea actuation made the film more interesting. She had an extraordinary roll in the movie and her actuation was good. The grandfather’s behavior made me feel anxious in many occasions. And some episode with Paikea made me sad.
Hotel Rwanda Movie Review

It is really sad for me to know that in our world human person can be capable to do something that horrible.
I believe this movie is terrifically great, because the whole world can see the massacre that happened in some part of the planet without anybody did nothing. I think this movie make examine our responsibility to help other city.
For me is a crude reality to know that this movie was true-event-tragedy. It’s hard for me to know that this were true events. I can’t imagine how huge was the pain and suffering of this people.
I think Hutu’s performance was extremist and fierce, their objectives were to eliminate all races Tutsi without exception.
Something that captivated my Imagination was the performance of Paul, merciful men, who was manager of Hotel Rwanda, who helped to keep alive more than 300 people using all his influence, and all the resource that he had.
He had much courage to risk his own life to save others. How about us, what we can do for other people in the world. We "say, 'Oh, that's horrible,' and then go back to our dinners." I think so, I’m really agree with this. It’s sadly true.
For me the performance in the Hotel Rwanda, weren’t all good, because while people of this same group was died in some occasion they were dancing, and some time use music for example. think that this was something extremely horrible and they had to show more rejoiced.
In general I think the movie is almost a perfect drama.

Seabiscuit Movie Review
Seabiscuit Movie became an inspirational story in one difficult time for people from this era of Long Great Depression. America people were hopeless, and this race horse called Seabiscuit gave these people a lovely way of hope, enthusiasm, perseverance and entertainment too.
Because Seabiscuit was a peculiar horse, so nobody wanted to stay with him. He didn’t have good reputation, and was considered loser lazy etc. for these reason passed to different owners until he found an adequate owner, one businessman that recent had lost his son and was abandoned for his wife, Charles Howard. This man, together with the trainer Tom Smith and the jockey Red Pollard, did with Seabiscuit an extraordinary job.
The Jockey’s influence was brilliant. He taught the horse peacefully to believe in him and himself making of him an excellent winner. But this job was mutual because the horse helped him to find himself. Before the jockey knew the seabiscuit he was in depression, abandoned, with out money, family or reason to live, and all this changed with the horse.

The races were so exciting; at the beginning people were waiting for the worse but thanks to the labor of these three men (trainer, jockey and owner), they changed the thinking and began to watch Seabiscuit like a symbol of hope and like a winner. The acts of this trio of men were essential to do from the impossible the possible.
One emotional part for me was when Charles gave permission to Red for the race. I think this changed Red’s life. Also how the narrator David McCullough enjoyed his job.
In my opinion this movie is really good, because it has a good message of perseverance, and it teaches us how we can correct each other, that nothing is impossible when we have the wish to do something, how we can change another’s life, how others can change our life. And we all need a second chance but we have to make good use of this.
